Mile Marker 49

Follow along with George Dutka views of current and past photos, along with thoughts and discoveries. Mile Marker has a dual meaning. During my working years it used to be a designated location along the railway's right of way, now it is a location along the roadway`s of my future. Mile Marker 49 is actually at Marathon, located in the Florida Keys. A good place to take aim at I would think. This view is a sunset sail with my daughter Jessica who had come up for a summer weekend in 2005.

Off to the North Channel

A 40' sailboat departs Bayfield for the North Channel adventure.

One of the boats off my dock got away to the North Channel on Saturday just as the sun set. Sunday brought with it terrible storms north of Bayfield with an inland tornado touching down later in the day. Winds recorded in Grand Bend was 110 km per hour while Tobermory had just over 100 km winds. I am hoping our dock friends are tucked away somewhere before that point...George
