Bayfield Sunset

Sunset June 6 2017
I have stayed a number of night this year at the boat. All have been overcast or raining. On this occasion it was nice to see a sunset...my first of the season at the lake...George

Bayfield Ont. June 6 2017 first sunset of the season for me.

Beaufort, South Carolina

A typical front porch in town.
It is about a year and one half since we visited Beaufort, South Carolina. Beaufort is a seaport on the inter-coastal along highway 17. It is a short drive over from Charleston, SC. Old Bay Marketplace is a good stop in town. It also known as the Queen of the Carolina Sea Islands and the mile marker on the ICW is 536.3. Beaufort pronounced (bew-fort) is the second oldest city in SC. It also was founded before Savannah and discovered before Charleston. Here are a few views from our visit during November 2015...George Dutka

A look out at the inter-coastal waterway.

Another of the heritage homes.
Cotton ball wreaths are common in this area.

The moss covered trees that line the streets in town.

A cool Rug

Kind of a neat rug if you are a boater.

Copout is now Sold

Last Saturday we had a couple look at our kids Tanzer 26. They have not be able to use the boat much the past year and it was time to go. With the dockage paid it was a great deal for someone wanting to get into sailing...and the boat is in the water. Anyhow the couple really liked the boat and the deal will be closing on Sunday. I will still get a few sails out on Copout as they are newer to this size of boat and want a bit of a tutorial...George

Bruce Peninsula Lighthouse - Cape Crocker

Cape Crocker Lighthouse not far from Wiarton, Ont.
Paul and I took a ride up to Owen Sound then the Bruce Peninsula to photograph some of the lighthouses. Paul had a call to make up that way so even though it was raining...it was a go. We only took in one lighthouse leaving the others for a sunny day...George

From the shore

This is the road that we had to travel to get to the lighthouse...parts were flooded.

Mural in Southampton, Ont.

I was up to the Bruce Peninsula a couple of weeks ago and came across this mural on Hwy 21 on an old mill building...looks very realistic...George
