Trip to Muskoka

The locks at Port Carling...a really nice place to visit.
Mid week last week Susanne and I took a run up to Muskoka coming back through Wasaga Beach and Collingwood...nice but short ride in the PT convertible...George

We spent the night in Gravenhurst. Here I am dockside near the steam boat museum.
We hoped to have a ride on the 150 year old steam ship (I also know the captain) but this view was from us having lunch. With a full day planned we never got back for the next sail. As you can see there is a full load boarding.

The entrance to Gravenhurst...we stayed at the Howard Johnson's next to this archway.

We sampled some beer at the Muskoka Brewery located in Bracebridge and came away with a tee-shirt each.

A scenic tour boat arrives in Pt. Carling. The weekend coming up was the wooden boat festival in town.
Bala Ontario is the cranberry capital of Canada and this the the winery which processes a lot of the berries...we picked up three bottle as it tasted really good during sampling.

Looking out at the cranberry bogs...they will be all red in a couple of months.

Leaving Collingwood we came across this beer hops field. I did not know they grow up on vines.
