Coconuts

Susanne checks out a roadside stand for a few more ripe coconuts.

One thing there are lots of down in the Keys are coconuts....although we picked a few around our cottage Susanne decided to check out the 50 cent pile on our drive down to Key West. We brought home one for each of our grandchildren....George

Each afternoon while a small gang hangs around the tiki hut for drinks at Key Lime, William cuts some coconuts for us to taste the juice and the white meat inside.

One of our last stops in Florida heading north put us at a gas station with a tourist view of baby Aligators...we went in and checked them out...George

Don't believe the signs...no good T shirts at those prices.

Key West or Bust

Not sure about the story...but this photo of a US Virgin Islands rum truck is seen in Key West...hope they used a boat...took this photo in the Keys on our way to Key West...George

Sailing Key Largo

Nautos was assigned to us for the 8 days we spent at Key Largo.

We stayed for 8 nights at Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages at the beginning of the month. One of the benefits of staying is the use of a 22' sailboat. Each cottage is assigned a sailboat once arriving. We actually got one of the better boats which included roller-furling and a spot at the dock. Some guests had their boats on moorings requiring a ride out and back...George

Out for our last sail before heading for home. The wind was 10-15 knots daily out of the east with very little chop. The bay is about 7 ft. deep with it swallowing up to 4-5 feet once you proceed past the outer islands.

40 years

The four of us were married the same day and year, 40 years ago today. Here we are spending our last evening in Key Largo on a Catamaran sunset sail on Sunday two weeks ago.

Today we spent the day celebrating our anniversary with our family. An interesting thing though when we were away in the Florida Keys we spend a day sailing with a couple we met. To our surprise we both have the same anniversary date and year, our 40th. All the best and happy anniversary to our Florida friends Joyce and Walt...George
