Mile Marker 49

Follow along with George Dutka views of current and past photos, along with thoughts and discoveries. Mile Marker has a dual meaning. During my working years it used to be a designated location along the railway's right of way, now it is a location along the roadway`s of my future. Mile Marker 49 is actually at Marathon, located in the Florida Keys. A good place to take aim at I would think. This view is a sunset sail with my daughter Jessica who had come up for a summer weekend in 2005.

The Merry Market

The Kellogg's Lane Christmas Craft Market was well attended on Thursday evening...maybe too much so that we did not take in all the displays due to the crowds, but a nice outing...George

Ilderton Christmas Craft Show

We had a nice visit to Ilderton for their Christmas Craft Show on Saturday evening. A really nice mix of vendors with a few nice bonfires to keep one warm. This is a show one should take in next year...George

Three bonfire pits are placed in the middle of the event for one to warm up on a really cool evening.

Prince Albert's Diner - London, Ont.

A last look at the Prince Albert's Diner the second last day of November 2021. It was to close at the end of the month. Not sure if someone will take over this retro diner which has been there for over 20 years. I remember having a nice meal there with my kids a number of years back...George

Magic of Lights - Longwoods Christmas Light Display

James had us join him and Rani for a ride out to Longwoods for their Magic of Lights display that one drives through. I was really impressed with how many displays there was to see...George

3 ingredient chili

The 3 ingredient chili ready to go.

I tried this 3 ingredient chili last week which I saw on a morning TV show...was really good and simple to make.

-one pound ground turkey browned

-add a can of red kidney or black beans (I added one can of each)

-one jar of salsa, any kind.

mix all together while heating then add chopped green onions while serving and shredded cheese.

Memories from GBYC

I found a file of photos I took probably 10 years ago in Grand Bend. This view is a sunset fleet on its way in to the harbour.

My daughter Michelle out on the lake on our sailboat with what looks like I cup of rum.

I was standing out on the pier to take this sunset view at Grand Bend. Boy there was a lot of great sunsets the times I stayed over.

Wasting away in Margaritaville. That is my daughter Nicole's puppy Kira.
