Mile Marker 49

Follow along with George Dutka views of current and past photos, along with thoughts and discoveries. Mile Marker has a dual meaning. During my working years it used to be a designated location along the railway's right of way, now it is a location along the roadway`s of my future. Mile Marker 49 is actually at Marathon, located in the Florida Keys. A good place to take aim at I would think. This view is a sunset sail with my daughter Jessica who had come up for a summer weekend in 2005.

Last Sail of Season Grand Bend to Bayfield.

A September sail on Trekker our 1986 Pearson 33-2 from Grand Bend to Bayfield for haul-out around 2009. Happy memories of great fall sails.

During a recent visit to Grand Bend I noticed the lighthouse had a new cupola. There has been problems for years with leaks. One could walk out onto the deck back then, no one can't but the lighthouse looks great and if leaks have stopped that's great...George

400 year old tree

This massive tree trunk is to be cut down sometime soon.

On our way to Pt. Stanley we stopped in Lambeth on James St. to check out the 400 year old tree that is slated to be cut down in the next few months...George
