A different look at Lake Erie

A friend of mine sent me these views of Lake Erie in a bad mood...I believe they are taken in late fall...George

I like taking photos but not sure if I would ever go to this extreme.

Oh Summer I miss you...

Tropical Weekend in the Snow

The whole gang together for the weekend.
Over the long weekend Susanne and I got the gang together for a weekend next to the pool in a tropical setting. Best Western here in London has such a location. We had to book it back last Nov. so we could get 5 poolside rooms for our gang and also a room for Mark and Laura. It worked out well as all could make it on a really cold weekend in February...George

Took this photo looking down from our party area outside our rooms.

We had a nice area just outside our room that worked out well for such a large crowd. We could look down at the pool and waterslide.

Moving William's bed to another room. Each of our rooms also had a sliding door to the patio area next to the pool.

Each room had a sitting area and two TV's if you got bored.

We all hung around the area outside Dee and Kyle's room. Most rooms have a small balcony with no access to the pools as seen across the opening in the photo...but about a dozen rooms walk out to a large patio area...we had a total of 6 of these rooms...even had a gazebo next to were we sat.

Think we had to many shots...this bottle did not make it to midnight...Canon-ball rum shots.

Mark coming down the water slide.

As seen on the sign Key Largo is a lot closer to London than we thought...just down the stair and to the left next to the arcade were the kids are heading to.

Laura and Susanne look down at the pool from our patio outside our rooms. Lots of palm trees here. There also is a neat pond with a waterfall full of fish.
Kyle, Owen and Grace almost under the water. At one point all the grandkids were in the pool.

Paddles

Handrails can be easily made from a paddle.
 Paddling Around
Here are some interesting ideas for use of paddles...guess I know what to do with mine when I don't want to go boating anymore...George

Carolina Cherry Co. - South Carolina

The spicy pickles we found to be our favorite purchase.
Leaving Myrtle Beach head south to Hilton Head we followed route #17 over to Charleston. It is a nice ride on a old style 4 lane divided highway. Along the way one can find some examples still standing of old time service stations. One such example houses the Carolina Cherry Co. located near Charleston, SC. We found some really nice goodies to sample which lead to purchases of the goodies. Susanne found some interesting items also to display in our new kitchen...I spent some time checking out the old station from the outside...George

Although the gas pumps are still here, gas is the only thing you can't purchase here.

Hilton Head Beach

The looking glasses are seen in the foreground. Note the blue carpet leading down to the beach...spoiled here.
Last fall one of the stops down the east coast was Hilton Head. We got there late so only took in the main beach before dinner. The beach is one of best accommodating location I have been at. The change rooms, washrooms and parking is some of the best. There actually is a carpet laid down heading to the beach from the walkway. Looking glasses are seen along the walkway and beach is really wide with no highrises looking over your shoulders...George

No problem taking the dog to the beach in Hilton Head.

Fishing on the beach.

The change rooms look great.

A really wide beach with lots of room to roam.

Susanne and Ruby head down to the water.

Winter Fun

On Saturday three of our grandkids spent the day on the hills...George

Fishing - Myrtle Beach

We seen this guy heading out to the pier...seems you can drive your golf cart on the roads in Myrtle Beach...boy he is loaded down with a trailer to boot...hope he is loaded down with fish at the end of the day...Oh we were going so slow I could take this photo through the front window...George
