Cover On

Trekker and Copout to bed for the winter.
Wednesday was my last time to the lake for the season or till next spring. Cover is on and a last walk on the beach. I had my flip flops on for a beach walk. The water was cool but not all that bad. Surprisingly there are a few boats in our basin and with their sails on...George

The lake basin on Wednesday still has a few boats in the water. One with sails on.

GBYC Delayed Haul-Out

Still some snow left four days after a storm...not nice for October.
Last Saturday with a good snowfall the GBYC haul-out was delayed till this weekend. I stopped by on my way up to cover my boat in Bayfield and found still on Wednesday some snow in the shaded areas and a lot of limbs down...George Dutka

This cat is normally docked in Bayfield but appears to be launched and hauled in Grand Bend. Must need a crane for the job.

Thanksgiving Weekend - Farmers Market

Susanne heads to the main building of the farmers market in St. Jacob's. It was rebuilt after a fire a few years back.
Yesterday we spent the day at the St. Jacob's Farmers Market. We have not been there in years and with the rebuild of the main building after a fire a few years ago it was nice to see. The crowds are another thing with Thanksgiving on Monday. The apple fritters has to be a must have as the line-up for these tasty treats came out the building and across the lot. I am thinking it was a good part of an hours wait to get a dozen. A nice day all in all...George

There was a lot of everything this weekend at the market.

Niagara grapes are well stocked.

Great deals on peppers which are near the end of the season.

Trekker Hauled Today

Trekker getting a bath.
Today I was up and hauled Trekker this morning. Brad was up to help and I returned the favour helping him with his boat. Next trip...the cover...George

Noted this new sign up at the Bayfield launch ramp...guess they are looking to see if any have made it into Lake Huron.

Last Wednesday at the Lake

The basin at sunset. Within a week almost half these boat will be out of the water.
Last Wednesday was the last time I stayed over at the lake...the boat was half empty and I was up to winterize the water system and take the last of what goes home with me when I left. A simple supper and another sunset ended the evening. The next morning the heavy equipment moved in to begin rebuilding the north pier...not very quite up there now...George

The water is still warm and a walk on the beach during the late afternoon was nice.

The heavy equipment moved into begin rebuilding the north pier this fall.

The last sunset of the season....at least for me at Bayfield.
